Holy cow this place is incredible. Spencer is hands down best retail petstore associate I've ever had the pleasure of buying pets from. He's a legend in the business and truly knows what he's talking about. Great place, great fish, great service, and a great location. Make sure to ask for Spencer or "swill" if you go in. 10/10 great experience.
Aisles were clear and well organized. Typical pet shop smell. Prices typical for a stand alone pet shop. Nothing really noticeably discerning about the store. No problems with the cashier or checking out. Employees were attentive for the most part. Several of the hamster/mice cages were vacant, but clearly in need of cleaning. The store wasn't particularly busy for a Saturday. Only one other customer besides myself.
I absolutely love this store. My Jack Russell adores the girls in the salon. I always worry about leaving her there, but she loves staying with Rachel. They have a great selection of dog and cat food- we can even find food for our pickiest eater. There's also many options for treats and toys too. Good things to know, they have clean up stations inside the store
If your baby has an accident. If you have children, be prepared they have birds, gerbils, hamsters, snakes, fish and reptiles available for sale. They have a lot of sale items up front when you walk in.
My wife and I brought our kids here to look at all the pets. The store is very clean and the employees are super friendly and helpful. We found out that the store is fairly new and that they'll be handing adoptions soon.
I went in for the first time today. To the Oak Ridge location that is, I've shopped at the Knoxville location near West Town quite a bit so I thought I knew what to expect. I looked around and found a cat toy to purchase and went to the checkout counter. No one was manning any of the checkout counters but there were two young ladies in the area behind the checkout counters, maybe the grooming area? One was sitting while talking to the other. Both saw me and continued their conversation. While I understand that they might not have been the cashier, but could they not have acknowledged me and called for a cashier? When I said something to them that it was rude to continue their conversation while ignoring a guest, they said they didn't work there as a cashier. So I asked if they worked for PetSmart and to that they said yes. Then why could you not stop talking to each other long enough to get someone to help me? Well, I can go get someone now. Why bother? A note to management, if they have time to sit, they have time to do something productive. If they are an employee, they should act as such and help customers, regardless of what department they work in. Just because they can't perform a specific task doesn't mean that they can't find someone who can. Maybe explain to them that regardless of what department they work in, if there are no customers, they won't have a job for long. So I went to Pet Supplies Plus which was a night and day experience. I walked in, they greeted me. I was asked if I needed help out to my car with my purchase. They may be smaller but at least I can make a purchase there. And the employees are kind.
