although my parents are from the south, I didn't know what biscuits and gravy were until I was around 19. the biscuits and gravy on this shoney's breakfast buffet are awesome, they also consistently have pork chops on the buffet at this location. I have only eaten the breakfast buffet so I don't know what the rest of the fair is like. the waitresses are great, very friendly. I would recommend eating here on a regular basis. kind of makes me feel right at home
If several people, including me, get sick (8) hours from now, it will be because that chicken was ruined somewhere between the shipping facilities and the restaurant.
I hope no one gets seriously ill. (I spit my bite of chicken into my napkins, went to the restroom, spit out the rest, and rinsed my mouth out.)
I personally would guess that this incident was NOT the manager's fault.
My favorite place for the buffet. Salad bar is always included. It's all you can eat. I usually call and ask whats on the bar before I go cause I'm not big on catfish. But foods always good. Service is good. Sometimes they get packed but never a wait over 5 minutes. It's a sign of good food and good prices.
Salad bar has went down hill. The diced ham made the salad. The cold diced chicken not appealing at all and flavorless. Hot bar needs more meat choices. Not everyone wants spicy catfish. Shoe leather with gravy and fried chicken. I'll admit the fried chicken is good. When its fresh and not sit there for hours.
Has a great buffet bar if you go during busy times so the food is fresh. Definitely not fancy cuisine but good if you have a group with varying ages such as children and grandparents.
The manager was busing tables, pitching in as managers often do. I spoke to him about a different matter, in part "to test the water" (to find out if he had been advised about the chicken). He made no indication that he was aware of the situation.
The chicken nuggets on the breakfast buffet were ruined. I brought it to the attention of a staff member. If she took care of the matter, she did not advise me that she did.
